IVC FILTERS

Many times a small filter device is implanted within a vein of a person to catch a blood clot and to prevent serious medical events. KNEE IMPLANTS

The Law Office of Joey Stevens, L.L.C. is reviewing cases involving knees implanted in the last few years. Some have been failing at a high rate, and the individual has to have a revision or removal surgery. We are interested in investigating cases where the knee implant has failed, resulting in another knee surgery.

MIRENA IUD

An IUD manufactured by BAYER. Numerous complications with this device have been noted including perforation of the uterine wall, migration of the IUD to outside of the uterus, and other issues resulting in surgical removal of the device. Of particular interest are cases where a woman became pregnant with an IUD in place, had a miscarriage or pre-term labor with an infant born with serious problems.

ZOLOFT/PAXIL/WELLBUTRIN/EFFEXOR/OTHER SSRI MEDICATIONS

Popular anti-depressant drugs. Recent studies have shown increased incidences of specific heart defects and other birth defects in children born to women who were taking one of these drugs during pregnancy. The Law Office of Joey Stevens, L.L.C. is reviewing cases where women were using one of these during pregnancy, especially the first trimester and gave birth to a child with certain birth defects of the heart and spine.

METAL-ON-METAL HIP IMPLANTS

There are a variety of hips that have been associated with problems requiring the implant to be removed or revised. These may include hips manufactured by Stryker (Rejuvenate and ABG), DePuy (ASR and Pinnacle), Smith & Nephew (R3 System), and Wright (Converse). DEPAKOTE

A widely used anti-seizure medication. If used during pregnancy, it may cause birth defects to the infant. These birth defects may include spina bifida, cleft palate, skull malformations, skeletal defects, and serious heart defects.
